There have been quite a few threads about these things in the past.

Personally all the usual suspects are there.

The same old seminars. They don't change that much. There is always a pilot shortage looming. There will be lots of graphs of projected airframe sales by various manufactures and then some other colour full charts next to that which will try and make you believe that most of the current pilots are going to retire next year and now is the time to train.

If your in London already I suppose it's worth going to but take a huge bag of salt with you and every time you speak to someone that wants to put a positive spin on the next couple of years take a huge pinch of it. If your going to have to pay 100-200 to go to it you would be better doing an hour in an aircraft.

If you do go please post back and let us know what the current spin is by the schools.

I was thinking of going as I am flying on sunday for my hols, I just need some help on the follwing as I am very worried about spending heaps of cash for 0 return.

I am new to this whole world of flying.

I am 27 and started my ppl 20hrs ago with the view of completeing atpl etc within 18-24 months.

All I can see from the internet and this site is that I could spend no limit of money, have no hope of a job .

I was thinking of doing a 500 hour fo with eagle or something alike .

I realise I am just starting out, but i would be pissed off if in 3 years I have spent mega bucks and have nothing to show, My future wife is a Dr and has faith in what i am doing................. what would she reckon if I spent all this and ended up at the job centre signing on.

I again realise I am sounding like a newbie, its because I am and would like to learn from peoples experience .

Thanks

Be prepared to be shot, hung and dried out in the cargo compartment, for the above idea, use the search threads, and stay on topic on this thread!

If that's your plan, be prepared to spend £120.000, from where you are now.
