EASA vs EFT?

Hi,

Just looking for some advice from anyone who has recently attended EASA or EFT in Florida. I plan on doing a CPL and have narrowed it down to these two FTO's.
Im grateful for any responses but only if you have actually been there as there seems to be a lot of posts in the past about certain flight schools from those that had a friend attend once.... and just whether you personally had a good experience or otherwise without too much mudslinging!

Did my FI at EFT some years ago. Had no problems with the school nor the teachers.
Only minor disadvantage is that they have just one Arrow for CPL training. (it must be a complex aircraft), and it did brake down a lot.
But again. That was 2 years ago, and a lot might have changed with that.
For all I know they could have 10 arrows lined up ;-)

Did my PPL at EASA. They are a lot cheaper than the area schools. Very professional and knowledgeable.. I highly recommend EASA! :ok:

i recently spent a week at EASA doing my CPL ground school and got to see the inner workings of the school and lived with 4 guys who were at various stages of training there, from FI course down to PPL.
I was on the whole impressed with them, the school was professional, the instructors were on their game.
The one problem i did see was aircraft scheduling to the extent that the FI course was delayed as there were not a/c available for the exams.
I then went to visit EFT on my way back home, as i live in Miami, and its a completely different mentality there.
Not in a bad or a good way, just very different. EFT seems a lot bigger and more regimented, and certainly had the feeling of a Big school with a lot going on. I was looking at doing my CPL and FI courses there and I think I am going to go for EASA as personally I like the feel of a smaller learning environment where everyone knows each other and seem happy to help out, rather than a university campus style. Thats not to say EFT has sub standard instruction it came across as very professionally run, just a personal preference.

I questioned this guy 1sky2 on another eft tread. I'm nearly sure I actually know who this is from when i was there. He wasn't exactly a natural from what I heard.
And no we're not THAT illiterate in em.. 'dublin'

i've been reading these forums for years now. I've tried to gather valuable information when i was trying to decide which school to go to.
End of the day it all comes down to due diligence.
Many of the people that claim X school sucks/is bad/fraud or whatever reason are most probably the students that should not be pilots in the first hand.
They do not read all the information, they are not responsible enough to study when in school and they cannot accept that they are just not meant to fly.

Most students i know are overall very happy with their choice, independent where they went. They understand that they are spending a fortune and therefor they are dedicated to the cause.
They ones i know that have dropped out of school, or that have spent more than double the amount they should have, have all spent to much time doing everything else than sit down and study.

Perhaps the schools should introduce aptitude tests before they accept new students!
