been hearing rumours that qr 340 has been or goin to be sold soon.apparently to some airline in argentina.can anyone confirm this.

For what I heard from some friends in Argentina there are very strong rumors about 4 A340-600 would be sell/lease to Aerolineas Argentinas/ARSA.

anyone know why? I thought Qatar hasnt had the A340s all that long....?

'Mini Fleets' aren't generally profit generating. Different training/engineering/crews, etc. Plus the fact that the configuration of the QR 340's was a joke from the start. First and business class stand-up bars and separate lounge-style seating meant that aircraft that could carry up to 400 pax carried less than a 330-200!

ahhh right. Well seems like poor planning by the management of the airline... didnt they know the facts before ordering the aircraft...?
Just suprised an operator like Qatar is letting go of a new aircraft specially since its not been around all that long... Though the big biz plan would have taken all factors into account...
Perhaps they could reconfig the aircraft seating and space ect...
