Anyone on here who can help with the following?

My aged aircraft engineer revealed that he left the RAF in the mid sixties after a one2one with the AOC responsible for XIII Sqn. The interview was conducted as part of a photo-shoot where AOC shook the young engineer's hand after receiving an AOC's commendation. He was then allowed to buy himself out for £35 and has pursued a career in civ-air.

Aged engineer remembers the photo shoot but can't for the life of him remember why he and his oppo were awarded the commendation, but thinks it may have been extinguishing a tent fire in either MEAF or NEAF. The original docs/photos were all accidentally destroyes in the early seventies It has become a bit of a hangar joke (senility/memory - have you wire-locked that or antilocked it?.....)

If any XIII insiders are happy to help then PM me and I'll give you his name. I'm sure that he'd be amazed if we could produce copies of the commendation/pics - but not so amazed that he'd forfeit my "annual" fee!

Thanks,

Stik
