Anyone know or recommend a supplier who sells aircrew boots? Tried ebay but no luck. Need a pair of size 10's for ATC Gliding scholorship. Thanks.

Your VGS may be able to lend you a pair of flying boots; if not, trainers will be OK. You won't be expected to supply your own boots.

In my day we were issued with a pair of denims (well worn) and a pair of wellie boots - all sizes except the ones that fitted! Nothing like a pair of HM wellies for sensitive rudder control!!!

Cadets are soft these days! They even have gliders with closed cockpits!!

.....and we had to walk to the airfield.

You definately don't need boots. When I was instructing on the VGS I told my students to wear trainers.

Make sure you keep your feet dry between sorties though.
