Hello All,

Did anything ever come of the EAA (i think) idea that one could instruct and get paid with just a PPL? - i.e no need do have a CPL or CPL/ATPL Knowledge.

Thanks, sorry have been in the middle of a sandpit with the RN for the last god-know-how many months.

Looks like EASA kicked that one into touch.

EASA have proposed in the NPA to allow PPL holders to receive payment for instruction given if holding an FI rating and this is still the case after looking at the CRD (Comment Response) publication.

Within the publication of the CRD to the NPA, EASA re-introduced the requirement to pass the CPL theoretical knowledge examinations to satisy ICAO CPL knowledge requirements for FI's. However you will not require an actual CPL licence to receive payment for instruction given.

Implementation of EASA Part-FCL and Part-Medical is currently scheduled across EASA states for April 2012.
