GAM (General Aviation Maintenance) seems to be an option to get some twin time doing bank runs. They don't have a website up at the moment. Can anyone tell me:

1. What are the sectors/shifts/rosters like?

I had an old friend that worked there and recall he did a split shift - out in the morning - rest - then back in the afternoon/evening.

2. What's the staff turnover like?
3. What are they like to work for?

Cheers,

PD

GAM treated me very well in my time there.

Anywhere between 3 and 5 runs out of each of their ports (ad, en, bk and bn), from 3 -12 sectors in a day. Machines well maintained and supportive engineering and ops dept. Daily split shifts (usually 5am - 7pm depending on base), typical 4 day week and weekends off. All pay and allowances (uniforms etc) as per the award.

Believe there is a little bit of movement in the last 6 months, mins to get in anywhere from 1000hrs up, depending on the health of the industry.

You'll get out what you put in, great opportunity and great experience. Anyone who tells you otherwise will probably say the same about their current job and every other job they've had and will have. Most who graduate from GAM won't have a bad word to say about their time there, I certainly don't.

I agree AD. One of, if not the best operators to work for in Aus. :ok:

Write to them or make an appointment with Ops and meetngreet.
They use to be very happy to talk to possible employees and even though we lost the boss a while back his lad and the team are reaching higher goals every day.
