Hi there.

I'm wanting to try and see a bit of Eastern Europe over the next few years - by way of the odd short break here and there (so much to see, and relatively so close).

One place I'm particularly keen to get to is Sarajevo, but on investigation flights there seem rather sparse (probably at some point FR or EZY will decide that there is untapped revenue there, but as yet they do not!). BA seem to fly there via Budapest, but at the minute I have not found anyone else.

Just wondered whether anyone had any experience/tips of what might be a efficient/decent value way of getting there? Cheers.

A quick Google suggests that Lufthansa fly from Heathrow via Munich for under £200, depending when you want to fly.

I'd be interested in hearing about people's experiences of visiting - it's somewhere I've long fancied going to.

There are scheduled flights to/from Sarajevo as follows during September:

Beirut MEA 321
Belgrade BH Airlines ATR72 and JAT ATR72
Budapest Malev Dash8Q400
Cologne/Bonn Germanwings 319
Copenhagen BH Airlines 319
Frankfurt BH Airlines ATR72
Goteborg BH Airlines 319
Istanbul Turkish 737-400 and BH Airlines 319
Ljubljana Adria CRJ-200
Munich Lufthansa E-195
Stockholm BH Airlines 319 and Norwegian 737-300
Stuttgart Germanwings 319
Vienna BH Airlines ATR72 and Austrian F100/319 or 737-800
Zurich BH Airlines ATR72 and 319

Your location, onetwo07, is given on PPRuNE as Sheffield, so I'd suggest looking at either easyJet DSA-Prague and a nice trip overland to Vienna; or take Germanwings from MAN or STN to CGN, or STN to STR, and change. (Or out one way, back the other for variety!)
