An double-seat EF has crashed this morning while perfoming a tactic take-off in an ordinary instruction mission.

The instructor (Spain) ejected but the student (Arabia Saudi) didn't. There is almost no info about what happened but I'll try to keep this thread updated.

RIP for the student.

Unnecessary and uncalled for Puff.

Spanish press seems to be indicating both ejected but only one survived.

A sort of translation of the above:

A lieutenant colonel of Saudi Arabia that was forming in Spain has passed away this morning after crashing an airplane battle Eurofighter in the base of Morón (Seville) to 9,30, according to confirmed sources of Defense.

The pilot of the airplane, that went in this flight of instruction, is a lieutenant Spanish colonel and has been only with a slight injury in a foot of which he was taken care of in the medicine kit of the base. However, to mid-morning he has been transferred in ambulance to the military installations of San Fernando (Cadiz). Both were able to leave the apparatus when ejecting themselves (to activate the mechanism to impel itself went) at the time of the event. But the Saudi military man did not survive the accident.

The Ministry of Defense informed into which an investigation has been abierto immediately, that is in course. At the moment the technicians of the Air Force successfully obtain information on the event. The Ministry of Defense explained that the training consisted of a flight of ordinary training. The accident took place few after the takeoff. The airplane hurried against the ground by causes that still try to clarify to the specialists of the Commission of Technical Investigation of Accidents of Aeronaves Militares (CITAAM). The military man of the Saudi army was in Morón on the occasion of the agreement signed by Spain and Saudi Arabia. This agreement is destined to that saudíes pilots receive formation to operate the new Eurofigther airplane. The Eurofighter is a twin-engine fighter constructed by a partnership of European companies. It was developed in 1983 by the companies EADS, BAE Systems and Aeronautical Alenia. It realised his first flight the 27 of March of 1994.

The original article clearly states that the Saudi pilot did not eject and the investigation will seek to clarify why. The problem occurred before rotation but after the take-off could be aborted.

Both pilots are described as experienced.
