Hi all, (sorry about the repost, i originally had it in the wrong forum:ugh:)
this is an odd ATPL Human Factors questions that i have.

Halo effect on the windscreen whilst on a night visual approach in rain, may have you thinking:
a) That you are closer to the runway than is actually the case
b) That you are further away from the runway that is actually the case

Answer is B.

However i figured the answer would be A. Because water makes objects appear closer than they actually are.

because water makes objects appear closer than they actually are.

That assumes you are flying in water, or the windshield is covered in a body of water

You have multiple drops of water on the windshield which are not giving the effect of a full body of water.

Thanks Grecian,
That seems pretty specific, almost too specific. However its makes sense. But then would the ATPL exam really expect us to think that deeply about it? O' well, just one of the questions i guess.
thanks :ok:

What would be the point of the exam if they didn't?
