Hi all,
I am in the process of collating the history of the London Gliding Club Slingsby T21b glider WB 924, Slingsby Serial No 587, BGA No 3901.

This glider was delivered to the Royal Air Force in 1949 as a Sedburgh Tx1 and was evnetually sold by them in about 1988. Between these dates, I am having great difficulty finding out what happened to it. It was purchased by a syndicate at Dunstable in 1992 where it has remained in an airworthy and flying condition ever since.

Did you fly this aircraft as an Air Cadet, was it on your inventory at a VGS, did you work on it.

I would appreciate any information you may have.
Best regards
Pete H

That's the old girl I flew in many times at 632 Gliding School Tern Hill between 1964 and 1966, when I was a frightfully keen young plt off on my first tour.

Can't tell you when she went there but have a look at the Movements cards held at DORIS at the RAF Museum and all will be revealed.

Yeah, fly in the old barge during its stay at 634 VGS RAF St Athans. I was a junior instructor an gave many a young ATC cadet a gentle trip in her.
That might have been her last stop before being replaced by self launchers...
Can't check my log book, but probably have a a couple of hundred launches in her.

I got the service history of the Oxford Gliding Club's Sedbergh (WJ 306) from Richard Cawsey. Have you tried him? If not I can PM his email address.

Basic data is on Slingsby T.21 (http://www.rcawsey.co.uk/t21.htm)

cheers

The first aeroplane I ever flew was a T21 at Nympsfield in 1976. Anyone know where it is now?
