Thank you to the Red Arrows for my own private fly past today. I was out windsurfing on Lough Neagh, about 5 miles north of the RW 35 threshold at Aldergrove when they departed low level to the north. The sun had just come out and I was having a great time and it just made a great moment even more special. Great job boys, even though I'm a Pongo.
:ok:

They sure get around that lot, they overflew Lyneham's family day this afternoon, folks thinking hmmm that's nice, 'Red's' werent due to display today but while your here and all that... :D as they promptly dissapeared over the horizon :(

Still, it was a good show, with the Vulcan doing it's thing mid afternoon to lots of "ohhs" and "ahhs" from the crowd.

OiC home front liked it so well done's go out to the organisers :D

A Saturday afternoon air display at Newcastle, Co Down, to mark the centenary of tractor designer Harry Ferguson's flight - the first anywhere in pre-partition Ireland - from the beach in front of the Slieve Donard hotel on Monday 8th August 1910. Superb display by the Arrows in brilliant weather. Thanks for attending & hope you enjoyed the LFA 19 scenery!

Hmmmm,

The issue I have is that the Reds appear to be not displaying at the RAF Odiham families day this year (or it seems the Lyneham families day - arguably the 2 hardest working stns in the RAF currently) as they are displaying on the same day at the Henri Lloyd Falmouth Week and Butlins Minehead summer show. :ugh:

Surely these priorities are skewed in the wrong direction? Families days are a way of thanking the families for their support to the servicemen and women of the stn at home and on ops overseas.....or am I wrong and Falmouth week and Butlins should take a higher priority? :suspect:
