Most news outlets are reporting that a Cessna with rego VH-KKW crashed into the backyard of a Mordialloc backyard, rolled over, missed the pool and was only a few hundred metres short of Moorabbin Airport.
The attending Acting Senior Sergeant claimed that the "put put put" sounds heard by neighbours meant that, "the said aircraft was obviously out of fuel and struggling".
I didn't know Vic Police were qualified on a/c accident investigations. I also would have thought that the media would get expert news from the attending ATSB inspectors, that they claimed were "within reach".
