Captain Stravaigin 2nd Aug 2010, 00:26 High Tea or Dinner at the KL Tower is a good idea, expensive by MY standards but otherwise very good value. The revolving restuarant gives a far better view of the city than the more heavily advertised Sky Bridge on the Petronas Towers. Petaling St for fake bags/watches can be fun. Make sure Taxis use the meter ! Have fun. Sultan Ismail 2nd Aug 2010, 06:53 Stay at the Concorde and you will have the Hard Rock Cafe next door, actually an annexe, 100 metres away is Jalan (Street) P. Ramlee where you will find the Beach Club, Thai Club, Rum Jungle and several others. A taxi ride away or 15 minutes walk is Changkat (Back Street) Bukit Bintang where you will find an assortment of eating, drinking and where houses. If these venues don't satisfy your needs then you are just too picky. By the way 2 days is not enough. May want to check out the "Batu Caves". 20 minutes from town. Sort of a neat temple built into a hill. It's really overran by tourist fed monkeys though (seriously). A way to spend a few hours nonetheless. There's a Chinatown area. Right by the Marriott is a very high end shopping area. Mandarin Hotel has a great breakfast. A variety of cheap massages are definitely available. For the Petronas towers, get there early (maybe 7-7:30) then stand in line until 9 am for a ticket then you'll get to the bridge by 9:30. Take a friend and take turns in line. You can only go up to the bridge (halfway up) though and spend 15 minutes there. I'd take the earlier recommendation for a nice view. Between the 2 hour wait and only going halfway up, it's a very forgettable experience. There is a neat display detailing the construction of the towers though. The Sky Bar in the Traders Hotel has a good reputation for nightlife. Good view of the Towers too. Changkat (Back Street) Bukit Bintang seems like it would be a good place to start looking for a place to eat. I forgot which night was the "going out" night in KL........ They seem overpriced to me Rush2112 7th Aug 2010, 08:01 Do you really think so? They seem overpriced to me That's here or Bali! KL is not bad, but Bangers is the bargain city right now funnily enough... Linerider 7th Aug 2010, 11:26 Lucky you! KL is a great city to visit. Go to the Petronas Towers, but just be sure to get there very early in the morning because they have limited ticket availability (tickets are free though!). There is also the worlds biggest bird park. It is a walk-in aviary which is nice in good weather. hammerhead123 7th Aug 2010, 15:00 I read it in Fodor's or Wikitravel.....it's gotta be true. |
