'not trained to remove road kill'

1: Take a shovel.

2: Dump animal on side of road with said shovel.

3: inform relevant authority so they can get rid of it.

4: Continue painting.

Of course, this falls down if road kill is bovine or bigger:suspect:

"Dump animal on side of road with shovel."

We lose enough shovels each year as it is.
Please don't encourage the workers(?) to lose more.

My wife once collided with a deer near Brechin. The first guy to stop chucked it in the back of his van and drove off.

Badger bristles are much in favor for fine paint brushes. In earlier times a paint crew would have brought out the clippers:E

Quite agree with most comments so far but...........isn't the headline a little misleading? The white lining crew did not paint the white lines AROUND the badger which would indeed have been worthy of a giggle, they left a GAP in the line which could be filled in later.
However, as often said, let's not allow the facts to get in the way of a good story.

S78's procedure is patently wrong.

No-where does it mention the risk assessment, safety equipment and form filling that would obviously accompany such a task.

Operator would have to wear the obligatory day-glow, too.

A teabreak would also be required somewhere I am sure.

Guy here hit a moose on Tuesday night. They medevaced him to Montreal but he died on Wednesday from his injuries. He was driving a compact car which was pretty well demolished.

Jetlagged, up at 0400, having a smoke out back door, UK, hedgehog comes out of hedge down to path. Click, click, click along path, left turn, right turn, off into other hedge. Never saw me. Nails need trimming/

I used to work for a district council refuse division back in the late 90's. I well remember 'racing' one of my colleagues (sensibly of course) - we were both driving tipper trucks - from one side of the district to the other following a radio call from our office just before knocking off time, to pick up a dead cat. The reason for our enthusiasm was that whoever got there first would be able to claim the overtime....

Yet if there is a car in the way of their yellow line painting they will lift it up, paint underneath, turn the car round to face the other direction and then lower the car to the ground.

But do they then issue a parking ticket? Of course they do.

Workers paint lines UNDER car | The Sun |News (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3061740/Workers-paint-lines-UNDER-car.html)

It happened to me many years ago. Except they didn't lift the car - and they didn't ticket me. They just painted up to my rear tyres, then they painted underneath the car body and then they carried on from the other side of the front tyres.
Thus leaving two very short non painted strips where people could presumably park their monocycles.

By not giving the breaks proper line termination markings this invalidated all of the yellow line. I wish I knew that then.
