This week's edition of Flight International has an ad for SIA Cargo looking for rated and non-rated 747-400 skippers.

Will that entice anyone?

Lots of other guys will remember the thousands of dollars lost in concessions (arbitrarily taken and not given back as far as I know) And I hear the old rostering tricks are back again.:uhoh:

You have to be kidding. By my calculations they're offering the equivalent of US$7256 basic salary for a 747 skipper with 3000 hrs PIC! Everything else is "at the discretion of the company". That pales in camparison to the EK package. Mind you, Singapore is a civilized place but that's another story altogether.

Yardman.

The pay is not really that bad. Add the Housing Allowance and the average productivity pay and you will make somewhere between 220-260000 SGD (600-700000 AED) depending on your hours (average 45-50 pc).

And for you guys in EK who thinks you are the only one's with deteriorating T&C:s I can tell you that in 2007 most captains in SQC made around 330000 SGD (880000 AED).

And don't forget:

No retirement fund
No usable staff travel
32 days leave
5 year contract without any guarantee of extension
Insufficient medical insurance
Insufficient school allowance
No transport to work
Unstable rosters (freighter flying)
Ridiculously high training bond (55000 SGD)

If it wasn't for Singapore being such a great place to live...

most people like Singapore and most people hate Dubai, airlines might have to pay a bit more to get people to come to Dubai over Singapore, everything else being equal I'd pick SIA over EK

That was a miracle a thread with EK in the title that went 10 posts before EK was mentioned and no slagging of the company. Must be summer madness, guys posting from the pool? :\
