To those who know of this aircraft, and its intersting past, turns out it went to visit the beach today...

I think you'll find the pilot is a she, and i think she did a great job.

It must be about time they fitted a permanent skid plate, to the nose of FTM?? :p

At least it looks like it's parked above the high tide mark?

Could have been a panic on, if it ended up on the beach between the tide marks?

It's lucky it's only about a 5M tide at present... :)

As of this morning, they are still trying to determine the cause.

70 litres of fuel in the tanks.

Damage is restricted to the nose gear. The prop is reportedly ok.

No way to treat good old Phantom.

Looking at some old photos from the 80's, the Phantom must be on yet another paint scheme and interior.

Was FTM one Merv's aircraft many years ago?

it was red and white when I flew it in the late eighties
