Wondering if anyone knows of any commercial operators still operating any taildraggers for commercail ops in AUS or NZ, and what a/c types they.

Sure are. Most Ag opperators use tail draggers. Cessna Agwagon, Air Tractor,Grummin Ag Cat, PZL Dromadere to name a few. The Department of Enviroment and Conservation (DEC) in WA have a fleet of American Champion Scouts for fire survallance.

A few 180/185 operators around NZ. Mt Cook Ski Planes and Canterbury Aviation are the only two I can think of at the moment.

Pay's have a couple of C185s as company run-abouts, Pratt in Kingaroy has 3 I think.

All the glider tugs I know of (Kingaroy, Warkworth, Camden) are Pawnees.

There is a BLANK in BLANK with a C185 and a PPL that he flies on Charter :rolleyes:

There are a few skydive outfits use Porters around the place. Makarora Air or whatever they call themselves use a 185.

Oberon Air out of Albury has been operating a BirdDog for low level patrol work for quiet a few years now.,.,

Just want to know why, is that a crime? It might actually be helpful for up a creek if more background information is given.

Nothing wrong with asking questions. But why does he need to be labelled a "newbie" - with the obvious intonation that goes with it - for asking?

Maybe he's a tailwheel pilot looking for work.

Maybe he's been a member of these boards for a good amount of time who's used that time to read - and learn - rather than contribute his own posts.

Anyone who spends any amount time on bulletin boards knows the term "noob/newbie" can be implied as derogatory - that's what I took issue with, not with your right to ask the question.

I'll leave it at that.

As mentioned above, Curtis operate a number of tail-draggers as follows:
- C180: Mostly for fire spotting;
- Citabria: Flight training/joy flights;
- Tiger Moth: Mainly joy flights;
- Pitts: Joy flights and aerobatics training;
- Harvard: Cross hired for joy flights.
