Back in August 1978 there were several flights to Stansted from Hong Kong carrying Vietnamese 'Boat People' who had been given refuge in the UK. Does anybody have details of these flights, i.e. Flight numbers, a/c used, registrations of a/c, route HK-UK etc etc?
Who paid for the flights the Uk Govt I assume?
Thanks!

Around that time, maybe a years or so later, I flew HKG to LAX on Braniff.

When the flight closed to commercial pax the remaining seats were released to the refugee organisation who filled the aircraft up. Possibly a similar procedure for West bound flights? Possibly no special charters? I honestly can't remember.
