TLA (Throttle Lever Angle).

the above is correct

Technically, "Thrust Lever Angle" is more correct.

Maintenance use it as a rough guide (considering that on many aircraft types it is just a decal stuck on the thrust quadrant), but TRA (Thrust Resolver Angle) is a better indication of the signal being sent to the engine management system.

OK bumpy, got a little question for you:

If, on the A321 you fly, if A/THR is active (both engines operative) and the levers are in the CL detent, what happens if you move one lever out of the detent to FLX/MCT?

Please, nobody respond until bumpy does, i'd like to hear his opinion on the subject. I'm not a pilot so I would like to know.

Watch for the same question on different forum/user name and then supply a "fanciful" answer and see what comes back here :ok:

TLA or PLA, both of which are a TLA.

Two reasons :

To make the aircraft look more complicated than it actually it is (makes us pilots look smarter) :ok:

So that some smart ass  checkie can ask you stupid questions, such as :

- what is the thrust lever angle for certain thrust settings !!
