Hi all, Iv just asked a simlar question in Private Flying....
Does anybody on here fly Remote control aircraft?

With a love for aviation i think its a perfect hobbie to take up if funds or medical etc stop you flying. Or as a gift id you know somebody retiring

Sean Brown - MD of Heli Air. He's got more than 30 types on his licence!

I've been flying model fixed wing for 50 yrs (with virtually no crashes) and have been a professional helicopter pilot for 40 (with no crashes). Can I fly a model helicopter? Yes, as long as it's in the hover - tail towards me. Any thing else and I crash - pricey business!

I fly model helicopters. It's a lot cheaper to start with simulator on PC connected to your transmitter, and than fly the real thing. I have two models, AS350 1:10 and EC135 in progress 1:6. Expensive, but better to leave the money in this hobby than in a bar :)
