View Full Version : A320 JAR-Prof Check
I need some advice and/or recommendations.
I used to have a JAR license before I moved to the US in 2001.
I need to reactivate my JAR license. I was told by the Swiss authorities that I need a JAR Proficiency Check on a JAR approved Simulator with a JAA Examiner.
I am looking for places where to do this, at what cost, etc...
If you have any experience, I would love to hear from you.
Thanks.
I don't have to redo anything other than having my medical, and a checkride.
I have been flying the past 8 years for a 121 carrier in the US.

Ignore A320 they don't know what they are talking about.
There is a rule that if you have let your IR lapse for more than 7 years you have to redo your ATPL theory. But if you have maintained any ICAO IR in the interim period its 7 years from when it runs out. But you proberly knew that.
Is your original JAR license swiss?
Thanks.
My original JAR license was issued by the swiss authorities. I received an email from the swiss authorities stating that if I had proof of continuous activity, I just needed the medical and "a JAR-Prof-Check on a JAR-approved Simulator with a JAA-Examiner".
I am looking at the best/cheapest way to do that.
Any suggestion appreciated.

This section is full of wannbie pilots you would proberly get a bit responce in another forum. Questions perhaps.
Sorry I am turboprop driver so can't help with recommending a sim provider.
If you go onto the CAA website
The UK Civil Aviation Authority (http://www.caa.co.uk)
You can find a list of all the TRTO's on the CAA's books.
Have fun
Thanks for the info. I will take a look at it.
I was also looking for various experience at facilities.
I'll try another forum.
