I'm going to be in Berlin next weekend and intend visiting this museum-it looks pretty good from the website.

Two questions for anyone who's been there: will I need a tripod for shots indoors or is the lighting (artificial and/or natural) good enough to make flash suffice? I ask because space will be a bit tight in my luggage and I'd rather not have to hump a tripod around if I can avoid it. On the other hand, I want to get decent photos of the aircraft that are indoors.

Secondly, what's the best way of getting to and from the museum from the city centre, where I'll be staying-very near where Checkpoint Charlie was, apparently.

Thanks in anticipation and any other views on the museum would be welcomed.

Its about 8 years since I have been but I was able to get their by U-Bahn and bus. I do not remember having any major issues with indoor photography

We took the S-Bahn or U-Bahn to Spandau and then the bus - no 135 according to this link:

Luftwaffe Museum - Berlin-Gatow - Germany (http://www.aviationmuseum.eu/World/Europe/Germany/Berlin-Gatow/Luftwaffe_Museum.htm)

The bus comes down Potsdamer Chausee from the north east, you get off the bus somewhere in this housing estate and walk in via the road that passes the sports track:
