Can anybody tell me or point me to a link which will advise me about whether I can fly in the USA on a medical obtained in the USA?

I have a CAA PPL. I understand that a CAA licence requires a CAA medical but wondered whether as, as I have an FAA Certficate which is valid only when accomanied by a United Kingdom Pilot License that maybe I could fly in the US on a US medical

I'd be grateful for a response.

Sorry - but you can't mix your drinks... the FAA "licence" is ONLY valid while the CAA licence is valid in its entirety, i.e. you must have a certificate of test/experience or whatever else it is you need to be current in the UK, PLUS the valid appropriate (CAA) medical.

Otherwise you could have a licence from A, certificate of experience from B, medical from C.......

Thanks Oleo, it's not the answer that I wanted though! I was hoping that I could get away with an FAA medical if I was only flying in the USA!
