I'm filling out the online application for the Cadet Pilot program with Cathay Pacific. I started a new threat because this is important.

On the application it asks for courses taken. Do they want ALL courses for my University degree, or just the aviation, math, physics/science and other relevant questions? I have an Associates of Applied Science ( 2-year degree) and will be graduating with my Bachelors of Science in August.

Is there anything else that I should be aware of on the app that needs perfection? I really would like to interview with them, Cathay is the company I've wanted to fly for since I was a kid and don't want to screw this up.

I have my essays done, Why I want to become a Cathay Cadet Pilot and What experience have I gained which may assist me as a pilot. If anybody would be willing to look over them make suggestions and comments, I would appreciate it. Like I said, I really want this and they're the company that I would want to stay with for the rest of my career. BTW, I have my Flight Instructor Airplane and Instrument, 450 TT and 10 multi but didn't finish it yet.

With that kind of opening, you're sure to make an impression.

LOL. New Threat. I just put in my SAT scores, and that seemed to get me an interview, I'll have to see how that goes. Good Luck to you.

I put my GPA for High School, College and University. Didn't even put my SAT scores, that got me an interview also.

My apologies. I thought that if I added on to the end of the other CX threads that it would not be read. It is an important question for me to ask.

So I should not list any courses, just my GPA? I don't have SAT or ACT scores since I never took them. Anyone else think I should list the important courses like physics, math and aviation courses (like aerodynamics) or just leave it? Thanks for the wishes of good luck, I don't want to screw this up, I'm not very good in writing out applications, resumes and doing interviews.

Are there companies that do interview prep for the Cadet Pilot applicants? If not, what is a good way to find out what the interview is like, questions asked, and however else to prepare for one with them?

Seems like you did an aviation-related degree, if you studied courses on aerodynamics, physics and math. That alone should fulfill their academic requirements and get you an interview. If you don't have any high school qualifications, then just leave it blank - it shouldn't matter anyway, since they accept college degrees.

If not, what is a good way to find out what the interview is like, questions asked, and however else to prepare for one with them?

Use the "Search" function.

Hope this helps, best of luck!

wasn't there a 1000 word or character limit :s at least there was for me... and my answers were hardly what i'd call an 'essay'... more a large paragraph :bored:

It's not about length - it's about quality. I filled the entire space but my primary focus was to make sure my "essay" was free of bullsh!t.

The three essays and their lengths: "Why do you want to become a Cathay Cadet pilot?" and "What experiences do you have which may assist you as a pilot?" are 250 word length essays (not characters) whereas extracariccular activities/interests is a 1000 length essay (characters, spaces, letters, etc...). I wrote for the why, that I have what it takes and that I'm looking for a mutually beneficial long term career relationship, for the second I listed the personality traits I picked up from the different phases of my life (eg. leadership in the military) and the activities/interests is what it is.

Thanks for everyone's input. I'll put in the physics and other science classes and the math courses on my app.
