Eurocopter FADEC question

What are "retrieval laws"?

In an twin engine Eurocopter that is FADEC governed (eg EC145, EC155), when one engine has been put into backup mode, the other engine is "governed by retrieval laws". What does this mean?

The EC 145 has no FADEC!!

Ah, well it is the EC155 I am referring to. I assumed it was also installed in the 145.

Essentially it means the FADEC is making assumptions about parameters that it does not have an input for, based on pre-programmed 'laws' that can be related to parameters for which it does have an input from.
