View Full Version : Can the CAA disclose my medical details?

Hi All,

I've recently had my JAA Class 1 medical certificate re-instated after the CAA received a report from my specicalist. It's a minor problem that I have with one eye; The CAA didn't refer me for further checks or call me in to take a look at me themselves.

Of course this is now on my CAA records and so I'm concerned that it might be held against me during a job application. So my question is: During the selection process can a potential employer ever gain access to my medical details at the CAA? And if so would they be likely to hold anything they find against me?

Thanks in advance,

V.

I understand that it is their rule that no information about you would be available to anyone, without your express permission. (I think this also applies to Flight Crew Licensing department, not just Medical Division.)

Also, I do not think that disclosure of your medical information is legal without your consent anyway, but I might be wrong.

If you really want to check, you may like to ring CAA direct.
