OK, it's a rumor site but. . . . . . what's the "goss" with Eurocopter New Zealand?

My contact says that there has been some blood-letting with the Manager, Chief Engineer and some others "let go".

Is this true? Are they going bad? Who's running the show? Anyone know what's going on?

Here is the info straight from friend who works there.

They are streamlining their operation in NZ. General Manager position has been made done away with and NZ overseen from Australia. Paul the previous GM is now working in Quality Control at Aus Aero in Sydney. Chief Engineer position was made redundant. One engineer was also made redundant as was a receptionist.

With Advanced Flight moving all their helos to their own facility and now having their own engineer it wasn't feasible to sustain that many engineers on staff full time without those machines. EC NZ will use additional contract engineers when needed. The Technical Director (Murray Benns) will now have more responsibility for overall running of the place and answer to Australia.

And its not just EC NZ, Flightline have made seven people redundant across the other side of the airfield. But helo sales are improving which is a good sign.

Hope that answers your question. :ok:
