Can anyone tell me whats happening with the Auckland based DHL 727 service to Sydney from 1 September. I understand that the 727's will not be allowed to fly into Australia after that date.
Is Toll looking to operate a 737F or a 757F across the ditch?.

I've heard a 757F for Tasman Express(DHL) and for Heavylift 2X 733F.

How come the 727's aren't allowed in?

Due to CASA updating the reg's for 'noisy' aircraft.
Shame to see the 727 finally go :(

The DHL 727 is the coolest aircraft on the field when in Auckland, or anywhere for that matter:cool:
Some might argue it's the fastest as well.
I reckon the the 738 is just as noisy as the 727, and I hope they are given a dispensation/waiver to continue to operate it if it's economically viable to do so.
Can't see that happening though :suspect:

It would be interesting to know how many hours that aeroplane has flown.
