Hi my name ronnie barker and i trying to find out what the following abbreviations stand for in respect to metalurgy. The abbreviations are as follows:

FTY
FTU
FSU
KSI

any help would be much appreciated as this information is required for a military project i am undertaking

Here is one I goggled earlier
Knattspyrnusamband Íslands (football association of Iceland):}
Sometimes it is less confusing to ask people who know.
To many acronyms \ abbreviations such a short life.

FTY is the static Tensile Yield stress (the stress the metal can withstand under tension before it starts to plastically deform)

FTU is the static Tensile Ultimate stress (the stress the metal can withstand under tension before it breaks)

FSU is the Shear Ultimate stress (the shear stress the metal can withstand before it breaks)

KSI is thousands of pounds per square inch - unit of stress in materials


Not 100% sure about FSU so I'd happily recieve any corrections :ok:
