Just wondering how many guys and girls out there that have gone through the Jetstar interview in the past two months and have been given Yes are still waiting for start dates. I know of 5 friends still waiting. It seems like they are still actively interviewing at the moment.

Any truth in that the planning exercise is being discontinued?

Know of about 4 guys in the same boat with interviews completed about 2 months ago. 5 others going thru the process at the moment. Filling up the hold file for future use i guess.
Planning ex still part of the process as far as i know.

just wondering what type of experience these candidates have (i.e. hours, type of aircraft, etc.)?

Thanks a lot.

Im a regional capt with over 12,000hrs (6000 PIC Turbine). Have had an application in since Aug 09 and not a word. I wonder if its because i work for the Link and secret CEO business is going on again.

I was always under the impression they along with VB hired a majority of their pilots from the Link

A certain Melbourne based "prep" company is spruiking that a J* cadetship is "highly likely". Any truth to the rumour?

Cadet Program??????????

They couldn't organise a root in a brothel let alone a cadet program..

I'ts wishful thinking of the poor excuse for management this airline has!

From all reports sounds like this is actually going to go ahead. The graduates will supposedly be used primarily as S/O's for the 787's.

74 World, you'll likely see 787 Dec positions come up first much to the incumbents disgust as the regulator imposes its requirements. The Dec's brought in for their 777/744 experience are now 3 years off type (5 by the time it gets here), so won't meet regulator requirements. The current Jq guys will bleet but thats about all they can do, Cheers.

oh dear.......I understand you want the best chance at getting a gig, but i wouldnt expect too much help from;

a) those that you are going to jump over in J* NZ
b) anyone who seriously cares about career prospects and T's & C's.

All the best for your interview though:O:cool:

G'day Oxidant,

I know personally some guys in EK and QR looking to leave their companies, so I presume those companies are crap to????? (but the salaries are good)

Pilots will be pilots, and the grass will always be greener on the other side.

The conditions in J* NZ are not comparable with what's been offered in Asia and the Middle East but way balance out by the QUALITY OF LIFE.....it's a choice.

There is no quality of life! All the Cpts are working max hours, min rest, single days off. All the school holiday slots are blocked for leave. etc, etc :ugh:

Loco flying is fine for the young bloods. Work em hard and burn em out, they don't want pilots to stay too long. The modern loco airline management ( sub 30 ) just want to screw the pilots for short term gain, and no long term strategy whatsoever.
