Can anyone help me please with decodes for the following ICAO locations as in use in 1961 :

EGHB
EGGR
EGGT
EGQR - I think was Arbroath NAS ?
EGXA - was this Northolt then ?

LFOD - was this Deauville ?
LFQL
LFMH - currently St. Etienne but may have changed ?

LYZA - now Zagreb, but was this the same in 1961 ?

Many thanks to anyone who can assist.

This site (http://www.homepages.mcb.net/bones/06airfields/UK/uk.htm) gives EGHB as 'Maypole', a private strip. The other British locations are not in that list.

I have EGXA listed as Manby near Louth in an early Pooley's Flight Guide. I think Northolt has been EGWU as long as I can remember.

From a very ancient UK En Route Supplement...

EGGR Blackpool
EGGT Newcastle - Woolsington
EGQR confirmed as Arbroath NAS
EGXA confirmed as Manby

No luck with the others...

Thanks for that - EGXA as Manby makes sense now - whoever was writing the EGKK logs that day had obviously forgotten the code !

EGHB was the old designator for Exeter.

Agree with the other "EG" designators.

Many thanks for your various responses - very helpful.

I've just found one more "unknown" :

EGYZ.

Would appreciate further input if possible !

EGYZ - Wymeswold

No luck here with your French locators....the attic archives only go back to 1978 for mainland Europe.

Many thanks for the steer on Wymeswold - I did actually go there once in the mid 60's when it was operated by Fields [ I think ? ] but can't remember much about what I saw !
