Hi everyone,

Look at this question from my atpl question bank :

A passenger is allowed to carry match-boxes :
1- On himself/herself
2- In his/her hand luggage
3- In his/her checked luggage

The combination regrouping all the correct statements is :
a) 1
b) 1, 2, 3
c) 1, 2
d) 2, 3

Right answer is A.

You can't take a certain amount of a liquid on bord but you may carry match boxes on you? I don't understand this.
Is the question wrong?

Thanks

It is correct, for personal use. You can even bring razor blades in your hand luggage!
And what about all the liquor bottles, you break them and you have sharp weapon!
There is even a crash axe on board, at the aft galley!

Let's hope no terrorist reads this then or looks into any ATPL books! :ok:

Amazing! I hope too that there are no terrorists sticking around there.

Are matches really useful on board ?

the reason they are allowed on board is that if they managed to cause a fire they are better off in the overhead bin where it will be spotted quickly(hopefully), rather then down in the cargo hold where it may be bigger threat should it start to burn and set of the alarms
