Ear Infections

Has anyone ever encountered ear infections being passed around crews through the use of shared headsets in the cockpit, if so what was the outcome with your employer(s) and what did they do about it. Does anyone know where i can find information that proves infections can be passed by the use of shared headsets.

Anecdotal evidence was supplied to us based in Broome (Western Australia). The local Dr's knew who worked for the same company as the number of similar ear infections rose during the wet season. ie Tropical humid temps.
I always used my own headsets with "socks". I never got an ear infection.
