How do licensing authorities in various countries view successful surgery for bowel cancer, and is a pilot able to regain medical certification? Any references that could be provided would be appreciated.

Try

www.jar.nl/jar/jar/toc00000528.htm (http://www.jaa.nl/jar/jar/toc00000528.htm)

which is the medical index for JAR-FCL.

um hope thats of some use, it dose not mention cancer specifically, the appendix refers to a manual with an oncology section but I've yet to find that on-line.

Personally if you are in the UK call CAA medical and ask. Their a nice bunch of people (normally)
Just read your profile, dont know if any of that is relevant for singapore, sorry.

I had Bowel Surgery for a not to different condition and had 3 months off work. After that Just a letter and some records from my surgeon to the CAA and got my medical reinstated with no problem.

I discovered I had bowel cancer in March 99, I had the operation followed by six months chemo. I was off flying for one year, then got my license back. I have now been back at work for 15 months feeling fine.
