Just had a look at Darwins TTF this morning and had this:

TTF METAR YPDN 242230Z 15010KT CAVOK 27/24 Q1008
RMK RF00.0/011.4 SUNDOG
NOSIG
METAR YPDN 242230Z 15010KT CAVOK 27/24 Q1008
RMK RF00.0/011.4 SUNDOG

Was wondering if anyone has seen it anywhere else and what it meant. looked through the Jepps for abbreviations but couldn't find any.

After a quick search in wiki, this is the link:

Sun dog - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_dog)/

Is this what it is or is it something else?

Nice. Great to see some interesting weather phenomena in this country :}

I had a quick look but can't find a METAR from last year with Fata Morgana in the remarks. I bet that's not in the Jepps either :E (and will have you scurrying for Wikipaedia!)
