Hello - does anyone know this:

What SORT of restrictions CAN be placed on either a class 1 or a class 2 medical? I've heard they can range from no flying at nightime, (as above), or even that a safety pilot must be carried.

Can anyone elighten me as to the restrictions, and the conditions that merit them

Thank you all

ariel

A few that I have heard of:-

Wearing correctable lenses with 2nd pair available [eyesight]

As or with co-pilot only [various conditions]

Day operation only (or something like that) [defective colour vision]

Thanks Birdstrike

Do you know what sort of conditions apply to the 'as or with co pilot' restriction?

Cheers

'As or with co-pilot' means two crew and the other guy must be rated on the aircraft type.

I heard that an example of the conditions that may require the "as or with co-pilot only" restriction would be a heart condition that is not severe enough to warrant the supsnsion/loss of medical. However that's not the only one.

I've just read this topic, and am confused:
If you require a co-pilot / safety pilot, because of whatever reason, how do you get to do
1 your first solo
2 your solo cross country

???

I guess "as or with co-pilot only" restriction applies to Class 1 medical, rather than Class 2 used for private operation? I might be wrong though.
