Hello all, I've been wondering how celebrities, polititians, the rich etc fly. Specificaly when they have their own AC. Do they need to go into the terminal, customs, immigration the same way as the public, or are they treated special?

I ask becuase a man, band and plane are very special to me and I'd love to see. Iron Maiden...

I've heard there returning to Aus in the future, I missed them last time. Hopefully they bring Ed Force One..

So my specific question is, will it be possible to 'meet' them in the terminal?

Cheers Pruners.

Not treated special, but customs and immigration usually done on the charter aircraft. Common in the charter world. Nothing "special" about it.

Im sure after a long international flight the first thing they would want to see once they land is you.

Iron Maiden usually bring their own incredibly cool aircraft so they don't go through the terminal but are processed on the aircraft as a charter, as compressor stall said. They'll then hop straight into a limo on the airfield. Most mega celebrities do this, though usually in a charter aircraft.

In the terminal environment, IME almost all celebs (not just the snooty ones) steam through an arrival area with several security people and don't stop to talk to anyone. I don't blame them, either, it would add hours to their travel time if they stopped to talk to everybody.

Bruce will be flying the 757 himself. Seen in Gatwick many times. He also flies commercially for a living too on the 757/767.
And as others said.......NO you wont be able to meet them

They will use either the Hawkers or Universal FBO's. Both right next to each other by the GA ramp off of Ross Smith Avenue. All customs and immingration done in the aircraft or in a private lounge.

I just use the check-in counters in the terminal, with all the normal people.

I don't mind stopping to talk to anyone, so feel free to say hello :ok: :} :E

That's no fun at all, Horatio.

It's much more entertaining for everyone else if you stalk through the terminal in dark glasses escorted by goons, shouting 'no effing photographs' at random, camera-less people, while the rest of the pax ask each other 'so who the hell was that, anyway?' and the staff try not to burst out laughing...:E

Well Heratio, if your a pilot flying into Syd your famous to me..:}

Though, to a more serious concept, would I see them get into this limo? Where would they most likely park [the plane]?

In Sydney they will park on 'domestic 6', you won't be able to meet them, but you might be able to catch a glimpse as they get off the aircraft!:ok:

If you're lucky you may even see me...:E

You'll have more of a chance of meeting the band if you go to a pub nearby where they are playing after the gig. A mate of mine met the whole band over some frothies in Melbourne in 08'.

Why don't you email Bruce? He's very approachable, especially if you're talking about aeroplanes.

However, if you're just going to stand there saying "omigod omigod omigod, you're the best" etc, then he won't spend much time with you. If you ask him about flying, you'll get a better response. :ok:

Bruce is a PPRuNer.

That was certainly the experience at our airport when Ed Force 1 came in. Our guy who was dealing with them didn't realise Bruce was a Rock Star and came back talking about the nice, laid back chap with the weirdly painted 757 who was so easy to deal with :ok:.
There're a few B grade celebutards who could learn from these guys.
