Malaysian DCA-visual acuity (class 1)
At least 6/9 in each eye separately, with or without correction.if correction needed ,uncorrected vision to be at least 6/60 and correction not to exceed +3 or -3 dioptres ESE.

As my situation,im 6/6 in my right eye,-4.5 dioptres in my left eye.will this disqualify me from the 1 class medical??
My good pals out there, please give me some advises.Helps needed!......(upset)

mktong,
the icao expects changes in the visual requirements for the end of 2001. I suppose that the malaysian authorities will follow the same idea. the jaa members are discussing about changes to extend the requirements to -5 dioptries for the initial exam. but the icao gives advices and it is not an obligation for the authorities tofollow these idea. but i think that in asia u can find a job with a FAA licence and in that case u are in the limits....
maybe ask ur AME for further infos...
good luck,
loz
