Looking for a list of places that have a decent size single for hire at Bankstown. Preferably a C182, but a C172 might do. Just looking for something to take for the occasional run through Victor 1, or the odd day trip within a couple of hours of Sydney.

Any help appreciated.

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a higher performance single at YSBK - eg an SR22 or A36 Bonza? I don't know of any of the schools having one (except Proflite's SR22, but I don't think they let anyone hire it - so probably just put on line by the owner to keep the ATO happy!!), so maybe a privately-owed aeroplane???

If there are owners out there, please PM me and I'll give you hours/ratings etc.

Cheers
Ted

Consider Camden (and avoid the hassles at YSBK). Curtis (http://www.curtisaviation.com.au/default.asp?page=f&fr=planes) and Airborne (http://www.airborne-aviation.com.au/aircraft/) have nice 182s. Airborn also has 172s.

Airborne (http://www.airborne-aviation.com.au/aircraft/) has a Debonair.

Thanks, Bentleg. Been trying to avoid the extra drive, but maybe I'm gonna have to bite the bullet ... YSBK is a mere shadow of its former self :{

If only they could move YSCN a little closer ... Like to YSBK ...

You could consider the Alpha Flying Group (syndicate) at Bankstown. They have C206, P32R Saratoga, and P28A Archer, all IFR with Garmin TSO'd GPSs. You have to buy a share which you can sell when leaving. Web site Alpha Aviation Limited - Bankstown Airport YSBK, NSW - Home (http://www.alphaflying.asn.au).

Ted, Curtis have a DA40 for hire.

Fright, Clamback and Henessy at YSBK have a 182 and six PA28s, with pretty good rates.

Bentleg, You gotta be joking! Candem is every bit as much fun as BK these days. Just as busy with the added thrill of no tower on week days -two runways with all sorts going round in different directions, very creative circuit joining, gliders poping out of nowhere, unnannounced RNAV and NDB approahes suddenly appearing in your windscreen - and the the geniuses at CAL charge EVERY time you go past their secret camera in addition to a daily parking fee. At least you can go round all day for just one fee at BK!

Yea....C & H got some pretty sweet PA28s at good rates~~~though I don't think they allow the 182 for hire anymore:rolleyes:. Anyone correct me on that?

Yeah, I've heard C&H are quite protective of the 182 lately and don't usually private hire it outside of training. (No harm asking though.)
