In Kingston tonight, big delays off loading pax and bags due to a strike by ground staff at Norman Manley apt. They say it's due wages unpaid, and the fact Air Jamaica will cease trading in April! Any truth in this?

The airline has been up for sale for awhile...the question is, who would want it?

Are they not being taken over by Caribbean Airlines (formerly BWIA)?

I was under the impression Air Jamaica will be ceasing operations and Carribean Airlines were taking over some of the routes, therefore no planes or staff from Air Jamaica.

I believe they are taking the six planes but not the staff, I heard that they have already started interviewing FAs from AJM not too sure on that.
