The usual questions. Thanks

nothing much mentioned except that you download the application form, then choose S/O from the drop down menu box and try to fill the rest of the application as much as you can!

but i would really suggest that you'd hurry and apply because the Indians are coming (http://www.pprune.org/middle-east/288896-joining-qatar-airways-qr-all-you-need-know-about-threads-merged-87.html#post5560202)to fill the S/O in QA!!

guys, yet again i say! I phoned QA HR two weeks ago and spoke with a local lady working there and she confirmed me that they are accepting application from ALL NATIONALITIES but they must be under 28 years old.

download the application and choose S/O Flight Deck Crew | Qatar Airways (http://www.qatarairways.com/global/en/careers-flightdeck.html)

Thats a great news man.......

Do you have any idea about the procedure of recruiting?
Please let us know if so?????
Thanks:ok:...

Sorry I have no clue about that! The reason I called QA HR (and some other GCC airlines) is because I been worried sick about accepting the Ab-Initio programme or to continue with my current job.

That's as far as I got with the HR thing.

Well guys lets hope that is a fully sponsored cadet programme for successful applicants.

SkyDive6
16th Mar 2010, 07:04
cadet programme is not a S/O job!

Macarto
16th Mar 2010, 10:11
Sorry Skydive, you said to apply under the S/O job application. If so, you mean to say QR take in S/O with no flight or jet experience. While their cadet program is for Qatarians only?

SkyDive6
16th Mar 2010, 10:31
What most airline companies do is take a recent fresh graduate and do some training and assessment once accepted they would be S/O or whatever the company policy would be after the initial training and assessment.

So if i read you correctly SkyDive, applicants applying for the S/O position need not have flight experience at all? In the Application form, there are lots of details of flight experience to be filled in. Even with no flight experience, i believe there will be lots of Applicants with tons of flight experience applying through the S/O position which would put us at a disadvantage.

I think you have misunderstood!

Brother listen, I have applied for an Ab-Initio Programme offered by Gulf Aviation Academy and once I complete my training I would have the following:

JAA CPL+IR, MCC+JOC, and Frozen ATPL. Now I can apply for the S/O or maybe even F/O!

Now if you want to apply for the above jobs you must have done some flying whether when you were training or professionally experienced!!

Now the cadet programme is to take someone without any experience of flying and make them fly then offer them a job!

I hope that clears the air!

Right, thanks for the clarification. Anyway is the Cadet Programme open to all nationalities or just citizens of Qatar? I have tried searching their website but could not find anything about the cadet programme requirements.

You are correct SkyDive6.....

@ Macarto

If I'm not wrong Cadet is only for nationals where they will train you from zero to flight deck.....

Where as for second Officers you need to have a basic CPL ME/IR with frozen ATPLs.

Hope it clears you......

Cadet is only for nationals who get trained at the qatar aeronautical college.

S/o if for guys who are below 28, got a CPL/IR/ME and frozen ATPL (FAA not accepted), must be below 28 and have an english proficiency level 4 or higher.

I got a call for the s/o position... anyone else got called up? I wanna ask a few question about the entry exams...

Thanks

Is the ATP requirement a fact for the SO position? A CPL/ME/IR won't cut it? Im just curious if this was said by the HR person at QR or if these are just rumors.. Thanks!

@ wannabejetpilot

Hello,
I just recently got issued my license.
I am very interested in qatar airways.
I was wondering if you got the job with them, and what series of interview and tests did you go through?

Thank you
