Good Morning

Just a quick one to those in the know.. Is Qantaslink
still actively recruiting for Dash 8 Q400 E,I,R LAMEs?

Thanks in advance.

Engineer Aus

Thank you for your reply!

I've seen that Canberra job (in fact there are two vacancies presently). I've applied to both and have not been successful. Admittedly, I'm not an Australian National (Pom) but I do hold an FAA licence, EASA Licence & the Q400 B2 rating. Half a decade of base/line experience included. Not to mention how many Apps/Techs/LAMEs I've given practical training
on the type.

Would I be flogging a dead horse or is there anything with QF worth pursuing?

Kind regards

To become a safe, proficient and competent LAME, LAE or AMT takes time.
Practical handskills to learn, Examinations to complete and a schedule of Practical tasks to be completed. My own speciality is troubleshooting nearly
15 years after my career started.

So you dont need a trade or anything etc ? you can basically go through the courses yourself ??

146, that isQantas for you in a nutshell. Great qual staff and they knock them back.

As for becoming a LAME, you now have to secure an apprenticeship and go through TAFE. A lot better system than getting someone off the street.

Thanks for the feedback Engineer_aus.

What's the long term plan for Qantaslink recruiting for E,I,R Q400 LAMEs? Is there a pool of AMEs (basic exams completed) waiting for a type course opportunity or is the HR dept a little inept shall we say?!

These positions have been advertised for quite some time you see..
Any further info gratefully appreciated.
