From an HR source, several pilot in Ek who did invest in real estate are in financial turmoil. One of them will most probably be jail soon for several checks without provision. This is how your life might turn in here if you wanna come to the UAE.

It's not just speculation, but possibly robbery. I heard of one pilot who paid in excess of USD 1 million to a Pakistani 'broker' in Dubai. The money was mostly borrowed and the broker then did a runner. No property to offset even part of the debt. Caveat emptor.
