Unusual Activity on DXB Approach 28 Feb

Tonight at approx 21:00 there was a police helicopter doing circuits at very low altitude over Mirdif South and Khawaneej. I counted 8 circuits... passing directly over Uptown Mirdif...

From my visual standpoint, the 'copter was encroaching on the 30L approach slope and RT traffic was monitored. A few planes on approach notified ATC approach of the helicopter but nothing was said out of the ordinary.

Anybody know anything?

A couple of the inbounds reported a laser being shone at them and when we notified the Police they decided to send the chopper up to have a look. It must have been some very dim witted kids as they had a couple of goes at lighting up the Police copter too, hope they got the muppets!

Oh, DD it wasn`t the planes who notified ATC about the Helicopter, we put it there so we gave the traffic info and visual separation.
