Well this one wins 'rumour of the month award'. Apparently one of the EK Airbus Captains currently working his notice has agreed to stay a little longer in exchange for a 50% increase in basic pay!

True or false, who knows, but there are those out there who absolutely stand by this latest little piece of info. What a wonderful testament to the realities of the universal law of supply and demand, not to mention woeful airline management........
