Hey There,

I've passed all the exams and now I need a sim ride in my Dash 8. I have 2500 hours and most of them multicrew and 1100 as Captain in the Dash 8 200 series.

I had thought that I just need to pass a sim ride to get the type on my license and that would complete the JAA conversion. Now I hear from the Oslo sim people that in order to complete the JAA and get the type that I have to do 3 take off's and landings in the actual aircraft bringing the cost from 6000 to 15000.

Has anyone done this? This doesn't seem right!

Thanks for any help,
Donna

Aye they might be right about the requirement for landings especially if it has been a while since you flew it , but I would be interested in hearing how they are planning it and how they came up with that price?
For comparison 6 landings in a B737NG is around 5500 Euro and 7500 on an Airbus A320 from what I hear. I can't see how 9000 Euros for three landings in a Dash 8 is a fair price.
