Credit to everybody involved, aircrew, authorities and Design Authority.

What a shame that good and responsible decisions like this don't actually draw more credit.

Hope they sort out any common problems quickly.

Or possibly a total knee-jerk over-reaction to a unique problem.
Only time will tell.

. . . but at least this 'knee-jerk' errs on the safe side - unlike the Nimrod and Hercules debacles

But all that capability - just sitting there.

I'm not sure there's too much capability sitting there, but theres a handful of aircraft :D

MR02 you are right - 15 a/c (as press reports) on the ground. The Gs have been withdrawn and about to become metal confetti, and Cs have been withdrawn as they are due for depot maintenance. So 6 Sqn aircrews (1 Sqn in US with SH) will sit on their butts for a while.

Hopefully this won't be long - this may not be a potential showstopper like the fuel tank incident at TDL.

Lets hope the pig will be airborne again soon for a few more shows and D&Bs, and a celebrated withdrawal in early December. :ok:

Hope they let the 1-11s finish there last year . Remember the good times working on the U.S.A.F kites at Filton, before the wall came down:sad:

Oh those pigs! I thought it strange if the Vickers Varsity had lasted this long in service and yet strangely possible nowadays!
