Hi. As of 10th August 2009 the CAA are stating an exam centre is in Manchester at the Brittania Airport Hotel. I can't get any response form the CAA at present - does anyone know if this is a new venue for the ATPL's?

Finally got through to CAA in case anyone's interestes or searches this out in future. As expected and though it's stated on the website, there isn't an exam centre in Manchester (at least for ATPL's).

The CAA did establish an ATPL exam centre in Manchester a couple of years ago.

Unfortuantely the take-up rate was too low to make it viable, so they closed it.

The full range of exam venues and the exam dates and times are published annually in AICs. They can also be found on the CAA website.

All of the FTOs are fully aware of which ones are available and when.

The CAA might well argue that anyone who is considering taking the ATPL , CPL or IR exams should be capable of reading AICs or asking their FTOs.

I generally have very little sympathy for the way in which the CAA does many of its tasks, but publishing exam dates and venues is one of the (few) things that they do quite well.
