I am attempting to email German Luftwaffe associations asking for contributions from ex Luftwaffe aircrew to my thread 'Gaining an R.A.F pilots brevet in W.W 2' I would be much obliged if some one could tell me if these emails will be treated as spam, as they will appear as an unknown source. If so is there any remedy.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Telephone them first, speaking German, and your chances will be improved.

I don't know how many WW2 Luftwaffe pilots will be around using PCs on the Internet, or how many of those will speak English.

As to whether they'd know anything about RAF brevets, habe ich keine Ahnung :)

Spam filters work in many different and mysterious ways. Also you have several levels of filtering, your own ISP, and then your email client, for a start.

A couple of things I've realised is that the following are likely to be treated as spam.

multi addressed emails where many recipients are in copy, specially if .bcc
emails that contain the word Nigeria
emails that contain large numbers preceded or followed by a currency symbol, such as $45,000,000
obvious words such as Viagra, Cialis

Many thanks Keef. I will investigate the possibilities. But who knows ?. There are a few old codgers in this country who can use a computer. Perhaps with a bit of luck (and help) I can locate one or two in Germany.

habe ich keine Ahnung
Keine tun ich.

Sorry folks, just another mad idea.

Many thanks CAPETONIAN. for useful info. Will try sending singly, and avoid mentioning Viagra.
Wish I could stop the two emails per day, i receive, starting 'cliffnemo valued viagra user'

Have had three replies so far, and one from a Luftwaffe General all friendly and helpful.
